Woman caught in Adultery: Justice or Mercy?

Christ was confronted with a tricky situation, should he execute justice, or show mercy, on a woman caught in adultery. The crowds wanted him to obey the law and sanction her death, but Jesus came 'not to destroy'. What should he do?
